🌟 Celebrating 50 Years of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 🌟

This week, our kura is proud to honour half a century of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori – a celebration of the living language of Aotearoa. 💖

Last Matariki, we set ourselves an ambitious goal: supporting everyone in our kura to be able to introduce themselves in te reo Māori. This Matariki, we filmed 50 students and staff sharing their mihi, to celebrate how far we’ve come together. Ka rawe koutou! ✨

Over the next 5 days, we’ll be sharing these videos – a chorus of voices, young and old, each helping keep te reo Māori alive and thriving.

🌟 Congratulations to Class 12 student Luca Newton. 🌟

Luca’s mixed media sculpture ‘Apodyopsis’ was selected for the 2025 Pat Hanly Creativity Awards exhibition at the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki.

This prestigious annual exhibition showcases the top works from more than 30 Auckland secondary schools. Chosen for their creativity, originality, and skill, these artworks are displayed alongside other exhibitions and taonga (treasures), weaving meaningful connections between young artists and generations of creators from Aotearoa.
