International Student Enrolment

“A Steiner education gives children the best possible start in life. If Michael Park resonates with you and your family, we would love to share how we can support this journey.”

At Michael Park we follow the philosophy and pedagogy of Rudolf Steiner and recognise and respect the developmental stage of each individual child.

Our primary criteria for enrolment of students is, therefore, that families have an active connection with, and ongoing commitment to, Steiner education and the special character of Michael Park.

Enrolment Information

  • International students are considered for enrolment in Classes 8–12. Students in younger years may be considered if they are accompanied by their parent(s).
  • We use English as our medium of instruction, as such, applicants will be expected to have a working knowledge of English prior to enrolment.
  • Students join Michael Park for a minimum of two terms/six months but many stay until graduation at the end of Class 12. We enrol international students at set times each year, usually at the start of a term.
  • The process of securing host family accommodation and care, visas, travel, managed isolation, etc. is time consuming and so we recommend families of potential students make contact at least six months prior to the anticipated start date.
  • Potential students will be sent an application pack upon enquiry. This includes information about our school, programmes, fees, visa process, insurance, living arrangements, pastoral care and how to complete the application process.

“Michael Park School is like a part of my family. She carries the mission of my children from Chinese education to western education. We are very fortunate to have my two children studying in MPS. My son graduated from high school two years ago and he is a second-year student at Otago University now. And my daughter is in the lower school. The school’s Waldorf education philosophy and the values of ‘relate, create, inspire’ support children and even parents to become themselves”.

– Melinda Tian, mother of two international students

“At Michael Park School we create the space where your child will form purposeful and lifelong relationships, and where inspiration is fostered to enable them to be the best that they can be.”

Desmond Pemerika – Principal
