Find out what our community thinks about Michael Park School.
“I joined Michael Park School in Class 11, knowing I would only have two years here. It was a big decision changing schools when I only had two years to go, but my family and I can easily say that moving to Michael Park was the best decision we ever made. School is such a huge part of our lives, and we spend so much time here, being at the right school can have such a significant impact on your life. One of the biggest differences I noticed was that I look forward to going to school, which is something I never realised was possible”.
– Georgia, high school student
“Michael Park School is like a part of my family. She carries the mission of my children from Chinese education to western education. We are very fortunate to have my two children studying in MPS. My son graduated from high school two years ago and he is a second-year student at Otago University now, and my daughter is in the lower school. The school’s Waldorf education philosophy and the values of “relate, create, inspire” support children and even parents to become themselves”.
– Melinda, mother of two international students
As a parent, choosing the right education for your child is a huge undertaking – one that suits them, their personality and our family. We were new to Rudolf Steiner education so we have learnt as we go. We enrolled our son into kindergarten, thinking we’d give it a go and see how he/we liked it. By the end of term one we decided Michael Park School was definitely the environment we’d like all our children to be educated within.
Their kindergarten years were delightful, fulfilling and the best start they could have – one they remember with so much joy. It was also great to have a gentle approach into getting to know other families. The transition into school is seamless, the consideration the teachers took to ensure they felt secure and ready was perfect. We have been blessed with teachers who educate their minds so richly, our children’s hearts are filled with kindness and compassion and their hands are taught to be creative and innovative.
Because their teachers teach them consecutively, year after year, they understand them, they know them and they care for them – they are more than just teachers. We are grateful for the insights each teacher provides and as parents we feel their role in our children’s life is to be nurtured. Being surrounded by a community of parents who also value their children’s education is so beneficial.
As our youngest child prepares for kindergarten, he is excited and looking forward to starting his educational journey at Michael Park School too. To be excited and to look forward to learning is such a blessing, one that as parents, we are so grateful for.
